Husband and wife Doktors Sonny Abrahan and Geraldine Zamora marked another milestone in their life after getting married: getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
On Instagram, Doktora Ging shared: “Our contribution to help hold the line further. 🙂
Almost all my patients the past days asked if they can get the COVID vaccine. The general reco in the PH, AsiaPacific, American, & European rheuma guidelines is it’s better to be vaccinated than not, even if you have autoimmune rheumatic diseases, as this may benefit you and the people around you.”
She advised patients that they should consider having a consult with their doctors if they have medical conditions before getting inoculated. “It must be discussed with the physician who KNOWS your medical conditions. There will be questions to answer before getting it (such as age, history of allergies, coexisting illnesses, and others), and you will be stratified to whether or not you can have the vaccine that day, and if you may need to be monitored longer. The absolute no-no so far is a PREVIOUS #allergy to a COVID #vaccine (not just any allergy).”
Dok Ging shared that she herself has some allergies. “I have allergy to some antibiotics but I was still able to get vaccinated, and tbh mine hurt so much LESS than the flu & pneumonia vaccine I got last year. I was even on the phone during the injection cos I was updating a patient’s family (hence no injection photo hehe) & I just went about my usual activities after the jab. Let’s see what happens after the 2nd dose. :)”
When asked which brand they got, she disclosed: “We received the Sinovac; it was the only available vaccine last week. Now there are 2. So people have a choice. Better kung dumami pa. :)”
